5 Ways to Handle Stress

It’s easy to feel stressed these days, especially with all the never-ending tasks like making it to work on time, making house payments, taking the kids to and from school, etc. But too much stress can take a toll on your health.

When we’re stressed out all the time, we’re more likely to be fatigued, depressed, and have an overall lower quality of life. Here are five ways you can reduce your stress.

1. Exercise

Exercise is one of the best ways to manage stress, but it’s best to keep your workouts short if you work long hours. Coming home to an hour-long workout can add to your stress.

2. Spend Time in Nature

Did you know that spending time in nature is associated with reduced stress? Try walking at the park, going kayaking, or stargazing.

3. Journal

Journaling helps you express your feelings while also helping you learn more about yourself.

4. Take a Hot Shower/Bath

There’s nothing like taking a hot shower or bath at the end of a stressful day. If you have a crick on your neck due to stress, I’d recommend investing in a massage shower head.

5. Listen to Music/Play an Instrument

Both playing an instrument and listening to music can help reduce stress. So, find some tracks you like and turn up the beat! While you’re at it, try your hand at an instrument and see how many songs you can learn.
