How To Be More Positive

We’ve all had good days and bad days. However, negativity is still important. We can’t feel positive without feeling negative. Negativity can be a sign that something is wrong. Having said that, negativity can be uncomfortable, feeling stressed, or upset. Here are some ways you can tolerate negativity.

Commit Acts Of Kindness

You helped that stranger find all the pennies, but you also helped yourself. That’s because the constant focus on yourself is directed towards the person you’re helping. Kindness is everywhere, from volunteering, to just smiling and giving a wave.

Count Your Blessings

Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, look at what’s right. This shift of your perspective can take time to get used to. You can practice gratitude daily by writing down three things you’re thankful for before you go to bed.

Try Mantras

Believe it or not, you and I talk to ourselves all the time. It’s called self-talk, which can be positive or negative. For example, you failed a test and tell yourself, “I’m so stupid”. A mantra is similar to that, except it’s more of a saying. Mantras that worked for me are, “It’s okay to not be okay”, “You can only try”, and “This is an opportunity to grow”.

Go Exercise

To be honest, you should already be exercising. If you don’t feel like exercising, reconsider. As you exercise, your body releases chemicals that make you feel good. Besides, there’s plenty of different exercises that might appeal to you.

Be One With Nature

Still don’t want to exercise? Kill two birds with one stone by taking a stroll at your local park. If sunlight contacts your skin, your body will produce serotonin. Serotonin is well known for lifting the spirits.
