5 Healthy Eating Tips

Eating healthier isn’t as hard as you think.  Here are some healthy eating tips to get you started.

1. Eat Foods You Love

No matter how healthy a vegetable is, if you don’t like it, don’t eat it!  You’re more likely to fall off the health wagon when you force yourself to eat something you don’t like.

2. Keep a Snack with You

When we don’t snack between meals, we consume more calories at mealtime.  Keep your hunger balanced by going for filling snacks, such as a cheese stick, a banana, or a hard-boiled egg.

3. Eat More Fatty Fish

Fatty fish is a great way to add heart-healthy fats and protein to your diet.  Try sardines with wholegrain crackers, or have a salmon sandwich with wholegrain bread.

4. Eat More Beans

Beans prevent constipation and keep you fuller for longer, thanks to their high amounts of fiber and protein.  Try black beans with wholegrain rice, or dip vegetables in some hummus for a healthy snack.

5. Eat More Dairy

Getting enough calcium is essential for supporting strong bones and teeth.  Low-fat cheese, milk, and yogurt are all solid options.
