5 Benefits of Exercise

If you’re not exercising, then you’re missing out!  Here’s why making a habit of the gym can do wonders for your health.

1. Less Stress

Had a bad day?  The gym is the perfect place to release that pent-up stress.  Exercise causes our body to release feel-good chemicals called endorphins.

2. More Energy

Exercise gets more oxygen circulating through your body, giving you an energy boost.  So if you need many cups of coffee to make it through the day, then a quick 10-minute walk may be just what you need.

3. Better Sleep

Studies show that exercise can help you sleep sounder at night.  However, exercising too close to bedtime can have the opposite effect, so keep your workouts in the morning or afternoon only.

4. Stronger Bones and Muscles

As we age, we lose muscle and become more susceptible to falls.  Exercise helps with this by strengthening our bones and muscles.  Having stronger muscles means you’re less likely to fall, and having stronger bones means they’re less likely to fracture.

5. More Confidence

If you feel that your confidence could be better, then you’ve got all the reason to head for the weight room.  You’ll feel stronger, happier, and more energetic—all of which add up to improving your confidence.
